Linkwood 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt

Something an overlooked Speyside whisky, but without doubt one of the classics of the region. Light coloured, it has a rose petal floralness combined with a subtle wood smoke towards the finish. It certainly deserves a higher profile.

Sitting on the outskirts of Elgin Linkwood is classified as a Speyside distillery and is a part of Diageo's extensive group. It was first established in the 1820s and has been in production ever since. Known for producing fragrant and fresh whiskies it's much sought after in blends and many of them find their way into the various Johnnie Walker expressions. However, in recent years they've begun to release several single malt expressions under the distillery label and there are also quite a number of independent bottlings seen on the market.
