Ktima Biblia Chora Estate White 2023
A rich and well balanced Greek white from vineyards in the Pangaion Hills east of Thessaloniki.
Dry, Medium-Bodied, Unoaked
Vegan
The Lowdown
This blend of cosompolitan Sauvignon Blanc and Assyrtiko from Greece is grown in vineyards nearly 400m high overlooking the Aegean Sea. To retain freshness and fruit character the winemaking was all done in stainless steel after which it spent several weeks on lees to build the weight and complexity. There are bold aromatics with distinct grassy notes, ripe stone fruits and minerals that follow through to the palate. On the palate there's a nice weightiness and slight creamy texture before it reaches a cool and clean finish.
The Occasion
With its clean lines and touch of weight it's a good match to veal, pork and poultry dishes.
The Producer
Ktima Biblia Chora is the innovative creation of Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovassiliou two of the most talented winemakers in Greece. The winery was established in 1998 and the privately owned vineyard lies on the cool climate slopes of Mount Pangeon, at Kokkinochori near Kavala. It has been farmed organically since day one. These exceptional, cutting-edge wines are some of the best in Greece.
