A bold and bright sparkling rose, packed full of red fruits, from West Sussex.
The Lowdown:
This might be bold and deep in colour, but dont be fooled by its appearance. While it's packed with red fruit flavours it also displays a biscuity nose with a creamy texture. It's a mature wine and that shows in the range and depth of flavours, think wild strawberries, lavender and redcurrants. Only 2,500 bottles were made, so you won't find much of it about. It's named after the Thomas à Beckett roses grown at the end of the vineyard rows.
The Producer:
Kinsbrook Vineyard, near Thakeham in West Sussex, has come a long way since its 2017 beginnings under the stewardship of Joe Beckett and Rebecca Dancer. From a modest start, they've expanded impressively, now boasting over 56,000 vines. Their diverse range of wines includes sparkling, reds, whites, and rosés. But it's not just about the wine. The vineyard is a lovely spot to visit, with a spectacular double-height barn that hosts their cosy restaurant and farm shop. And if you're curious about where the fruit comes from, you can book a tour of the vineyard too.
When to Drink:
Pop it open for a celebration with family or pair it with shellfish.
