Description
Soft, Hazy & East Coast Style Pale Ale
England: London
ABV 4.3% - 33.0cl
In a Nutshell:
A smooth, bright pale ale that slips down so easily - perfectly laid-back.
The Lowdown:
Though it's called "small", this pale ale still packs a bit of punch at around 4% ABV. It's less bitter though than some of their other pale ales, with oats added in for a smooth finish. The hops change with each batch brewed, but they're always on point, making it bright, easy-drinking, and proper refreshing.
The Brewery
The Kernel was brewing in Bermondsey before the now-famous Beer Mile was even a thing. Founded in 2009 by Evin O'Riordan, it set the standard that many others would follow - proper, no-nonsense beer with a focus on quality over hype. And they're not one of those trendy craft brewery brands that started small but sold out to the corporates when the big boys came knocking. The Kernel's indie credentials and credibility are as strong today as they were when they started.
