Description
Pilsner
England: London
ABV 5.2% - 33.0cl
In a Nutshell:
A Pils style lager from Bermondsey's Kernel Brewery.
The Lowdown:
Not one of the talented folks at Kernel regular styles however at the beginning of lockdown in spring 2020 they thought they'd be quiet for a while (they were wrong on that as it turned out), so to occupy the tanks they brewed a lager, which is unfined and unfiltered, hopped and dry hopped Motueka making it crisp and zesty at first. And it's nicely full bodied, and with a touch of bitterness on the finish.
The Brewery
The Kernel was brewing in Bermondsey before the now-famous Beer Mile was even a thing. Founded in 2009 by Evin O'Riordan, it set the standard that many others would follow - proper, no-nonsense beer with a focus on quality over hype. And they're not one of those trendy craft brewery brands that started small but sold out to the corporates when the big boys came knocking. The Kernel's indie credentials and credibility are as strong today as they were when they started.
