In a nutshell: Hofbräu's winter seasonal kellbier from Munich's state owned brewery.
The lowdown: Hofbräu Winterzwickl, a bavarian kellerbier specially brewed for the winter season. Harmoniously strong, with slight hints of caramel and chocolate and a subtle malty note.
The story of Hofbräu Munchen began more than 400 years ago. William V, duke of Bavaria wasn't satisfied with the beer brewed in his court at the time and in 1589 founded the Hofbräuhaus. Today, the Hofbräuhaus Bavarian State Brewery is one of the two remaining traditional Munich breweries in the region.
