Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year Old Highland Single Malt

One of the most well known single malts Glenmorangie's The Original 10 Year Old is the backbone of the range. Distilled in their famous tall stills it's an excellent example of the Glenmorangie house style. It's matured in a range of first and second fill ex-bourbon American oak casks which gives a mellow, smooth and creamy mouthfeel with plenty of malt and fruit flavours. With its long, gentle malty and fruity finish it's a very approachable dram.

The Glenmorangie distillery situated next to the Dornoch Firth just outside the town of Tain started life as a local brewery. In 1843 it was converted to a distillery and, passing through the hands of various owners, for most of its existence the bulk of its produce was put towards blended whiskies. However, from 1959, and somewhat ahead of the general trend, they started marketing single malts which, quite quickly, became the country's biggest sellers. With their success in this category more and more stills were added over the following years until in 2018 it was announced that a completely new stillhouse would be added to house more of their distinctive long necked stills. Since 2004 Glenmorangie has been part of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy's (LVMH) portfolio of luxury drinks brands.
