Giffard Creme de Cacao, Brown

With its deep brown colour Giffard's Crème de Cacao exudes big aromas of cocoa along with hints of vanilla nad chocolate. On the palate it's got a really powerful chocolate and cocoa bean flavour. It's goes in lots of cocktails, notably an 'Alexander', an American invention from the early twentieth century, made with gin and cream.

Founded by Émile Giffard in the Loire valley town of Angers in 1885, where they're still based, Giffard's early success was based on their pure, clear and refined white mint liqueur which they called 'Menthe-Pastille'. While this is still one of their flagship products the range has, over the years, expanded enormously. These days they are a global brand producing many different liqueurs, syrups and other spirits which are to be found in some of the world's best hotels and bars.
