Elusive Brewing Amber River American Amber Ale

At the heart of this US style amber ale is the appropriately named French hop Barbe Rouge — red beard. Its pineapple, watermelon and citrus character works well here, sitting brightly over biscuity, lightly caramelised malt. Idaho 7 and El Dorado bring a hoppy punch, giving it a clean, bright and sharp finish.

Elusive Brewing, are from Finchampstead, near Reading, and were founded in the mid-2010s by Andy Parker who after making his name as a champion homebrewer went on to become an award-winning professional. While they don't limit themselves by what type of beer they brew it's fair to say that Andy's love of all things 'West Coast' is a big influence and turning out top-notch American styles are where they feel most at home.
