The zesty freshness of Albariño has made it hugely popular in recent years. This, from its spiritual home, Rías Baixas on the Atlantic coast of northwest Spain, has all its classic salinity and zingy acidity. It’s full of bright citrus – lemon with a bit of spice – balanced with a lovely minerality and hints of ripe nectarine. There’s even a touch of nutmeg in the mix, adding a decent measure of texture and depth.

A crisp, citrusy white like this is spot on with fish, shellfish, or even a light chicken dish, and it's also lovely with fresh cheeses, bringing out their natural freshness.
