
Doorly's White Rum
A fruity, aromatic and aged white Barbadian rum which has a lot of character.
The Lowdown
Even though it's a white rum it's been aged for 3 years in barrel and filtered before being bottled to remove the colour. This means it retains a lot of character which a lot of other white rums lack. It's creamy, spicy and fruity and makes a superb mixer since it imparts the flavours or an aged rum without affecting the drink's colour. The classic Daiquiri is an ideal cocktail to use this in.
The Producer
Rum has been produced in Barbados for more than 300 years, but it was not until the 1906 Rum Duty Act was passed that the industry as we know it today began to develop. Martin Doorly & Co were quick off the blocks in 1908 and produced the first rum to exported from the island. The company was acquired in 1993 by RL Seale since which time it's been one of their major export brands with production based at their Foursquare Distillery.
