Domaine Papagiannakos Old Vine Savatiano 2024
A vibrant Greek white delivering pure Mediterranean character - think citrus, herbs, and a touch of sunshine.
Dry, Medium-Bodied, Unoaked
Vegan
The Lowdown
This is a Greek white that really looks the part - a nice golden colour in the glass. It's got a real zip to it - citrus, peach, a bit of melon - all fresh and balanced with a touch of minerality. The Savatiano grapes come from central Greece, and the way it's made gives it a bit of body. A really easy-drinking wine with lovely fruit flavours.
The Occasion
This crisp little number would be a smashing accompaniment to your fish supper, a plate of prawns, or some grilled chicken.
The Producer
Domaine Papagiannakos sits in the heart of Attica, just east of Athens, where vine-covered hills meet the Aegean breeze. Founded in 1919, the estate is now run by Vassilis Papagiannakos, who brings fresh energy to this third-generation family winery. Old vines of Savatiano and Malagouzia thrive in the region’s dry, sunlit soils, producing wines full of clarity and character. Tradition runs deep here, but the approach is forward-looking—sustainable in the vineyard and modern in the cellar. A true reflection of Attica, past and present.
