In a nutshell:
An unusual, but fragrant and very approachable southern Rhône red blend.
Grown on a plot next to the River Ouvèze this is a blend of Merlot, Syrah and the little known Caladoc and is consequently classified as just 'Vin de France' rather than anything more prestiguous. It's smooth and spicy with some robust dark fruit flavours and whilst quite full bodied it's very easy drinking with soft and elegant tannins.
When to drink:
From the home of a highly regarded Gigondas producer this a really good value for money wine.
