Domaine Fiumicicoli Rosé 2024

Don't be fooled by the delicate colour - this isn't your typical poolside pink. Made from 100% Sciaccarellu, a grape that's pure Corsican, it's got texture, savoury bite, and real depth of flavour. There's a herbal, slightly wild edge that nods to the island's rugged scrubland, giving it more than a whiff of the maquis. Think Provençal rosé with a bit more attitude and extra personality. From the gritty southern end of the island, it's full of plainspoken charm. Light in hue, bold in character - this is rosé with backbone and a bit of swagger.

Well structured with a savoury edge, it's great with garlicky prawns, grilled salmon with herbs, or rich seafood linguine with anchovies and olives to enhance the wine’s depth and character.

Domaine Fiumicicoli (pronounced phew-me-chikoli) sits in the heart of Corse Sartène, one of Corsica's most prized wine regions. Just nearby, the 13th-century Pont de Spina Cavallu, a striking Pisan-style bridge, which crosses the river Rizzanesse is a feature on their wine labels. This 75-hectare estate was founded back in 1964 by a former maths professor, Félix Andreani, and is now under the care of his son Simon, who's gone fully organic. With the benefit of cool winds like the Mistral and Sirocco breezing through, they're able to avoid using herbicides and pesticides. The wines are fresh, aromatic whites and rosés, bold reds, and a rare red dessert wine from the native Muscateddu grape.
