A deliciously mineral 'No Sulphites' Chardonnay from the Jura region of eastern France.
The small wine producing Jura region of eastern France sits between Burgundy and the Swiss border. Lately it's been enjoying a well deserved period of prominence and Chardonnay is one of its successful grape varieties. Fruit from 50 year old vines is fermented and aged in new oak foudres without filtering, racking, or the addition of sulphites. Essentially it's just left to mature in its own time. Fresh, precise and tidy this is a great example of a wine on the natural spectrum with the fruit, minerality and subtle oak all being in perfect harmony.
A perfect aperitif, it's also made to go with stuff fresh from the sea - think a plateau of fruits de mer.
