Description
In a nutshell:
A delicately floral, refreshingly dry Rioja rosado, with juicy red berries, a twist of citrus, and a clean, bright finish - made for sunny afternoons.
The lowdown:
Rioja is best known for its reds, but there are some great rosés too, and this is one of them. A blend of white Viura and red Tempranillo, it's carefully made to keep those delicate floral aromas. On the palate, it's soft and fresh with peach, apricot, strawberry, and a twist of citrus, all lifted by a bright, zesty acidity. Nicely priced and refreshingly dry, it's a cracking rosado that's easy-going but and nicely elegant with it.
The Producer:
Founded in 1879, CVNE, or 'Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España', has become a cornerstone of Spanish winemaking. Still based in Haro, where it all began, this family-run winery has maintained its roots while growing into one of Spains largest vineyard owners. Known for their exceptional Rioja, they produce under several labels: 'Cune', 'Imperial', 'Viña Real', and 'Contino'. And their wines are a byword for tradition and quality.
When to drink:
Great with summery salads like watermelon and feta, tomato and basil, or grilled peach and burrata - the juicy fruit and fresh acidity match beautifully. Simply great for relaxed afternoon quaffing too.
Suitable for Vegans
