Description
      Speyside Single Malt
Robust & Distinctive
ABV 40.0% - 20.0cl
In a Nutshell:
A small 20cl bottle of a rich, spicy and complex Speyside single malt matured in ex-sherry casks.
The Lowdown:
This rich and slightly floral whisky perfectly captures the essential characteristics of a Speyside malt. Aged in Sherry casks it has a really complex nose with floral and heather notes while on the palate it's plush and honeyed with stone fruit flavours standing out. And at the nicely lenghty finish there's a touch of smoke and peppery spice.
The Distillery:
Cragganmore distillery was founded by John Smith in 1869 who was thought to be the most experienced distiller of his day. A former manager of Macallan, Glenlivet and Wishaw distilleries, and leaseholder of Glenfarclas distillery - he persuaded his landlord, Sir George Macpherson-Grant, to lease him the land to build a new distillery at Ballindalloch beside the Strathspey railway line.
