In a nutshell: Just the right amount of weight and texture has gone into this classic Pinot Grigio
The lowdown: Fronting up with apple aromas and hints of honey and peach this does exactly what any self-respecting Italian Pinot Grigio should. It's also got a nice little bit of extra texture than you often find and you'll also get hints of orchard fruits, spice and fresh citrus acidity to round it all off in an attractive complete manner. The fruit for this is from mature vineyards in the Veneto, northern Italy where the ripeness achieved allows the winemakers to find a little more richness than is often found in Pinot Grigios around this price level.
Producer Adria Vini's aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties from all across Italy especially in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by their skilled winemaking team and their expertise speaks for itself in their invariably excellent wines.
When to drink: A really good quaffer, just as good Pinot Grigio should be, and its bit of extra weight means it'll match up to even things like roast chicken or poached salmon really well.
