Description
In a nutshell:
A luscious, elegantly rounded pink Champagne, with a gentle fruitiness.
The lowdown:
This brut rosé has a rather inviting way about it, starting with the scent of bramble and strawberry. Take a sip, and there's a subtle hint of butterscotch and brioche, adding a bit of richness without overdoing it. It's made from a balanced blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier from the Montagne de Reims, resulting in a soft, silky texture that's wonderfully easy to drink. And it's not priced to make your wallet wince, which makes enjoying it feel like a well-deserved treat rather than a splurge
The Producer:
At the western end of the Montagne de Reims, in the villages of Janvry and Germigny, a group of local vignerons joined forces in the early 1960s to create La Maison des Vignerons de Germigny. They aimed to promote their unique terroir and craft their own champagnes. From those humble beginnings, they've grown to over 60 members, covering nearly 120 hectares of vines. These small growers are a passionate bunch, dedicated to producing consistently good quality, great value champagnes while working together for their mutual benefit and bringing the region's character into each bottle.
When to drink:
A lovely choice as an aperitif, but it's equally at home alongside a bit of French charcuterie or a fruity dessert like an open strawberry tart.
Suitable for Vegans
