The Lowdown
With around 40% Chardonnay, most of which is grown on the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, in the blend this charming Champagne has a lightness of touch and real elegance. And being aged for three years on its lees and one in bottle before release gives it extra layers of complexity. It's full of honeysuckle and brioche notes and has a surprisingly lengthy finish.
The Occasion
A creamy, toasty and sophisticated Champagne which goes well with food as well being a superb aperitif.
The Producer
Founded back in 1808, Champagne Henriot is still run by the founding family, a bit of a rarity these days. Their success today can be credited to Joseph Henriot, who maintained them among the top performers until his death in 2015. Their signature is being known for using a high proportion of Grand and Premier Cru fruit, especially Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs with their Blanc de Blancs cuvée being a particular standout and is beloved by aficionados.
