DESCRIPTION
A ripe and invitingly drinkable dry white from Western Sicily.
The lowdown:
Catarratto is the main white wine variety of these parts; it thrives in the warm Sicilian climate and can produce characterful and aromatic wines like here. The fruit for this comes from high altitude, hillside vineyards and is fermented carefully to keep its essential up fron fruitiness intact. A short period ageing on its lees also brings in a layer of richness. It has attractive aromatics of peach, honeysuckle and a hint of fennel while the rounded and gently honeyed flavours on the palate are balanced nicely by the lemony acidity.
When to drink:
A real 'any occasion', crowd pleaser and great with grilled fish, salads and cold meats.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Adria Vini

Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte.
Their aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's winemaking team of Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese - assisted by Boutinot's Tony Brown MW.
Grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom they've built long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
