In a nutshell: A generous and hearty, fruit packed Californian Zinfandel.
The lowdown: Zinfandel is a grape variety always associated with California and has been grown there from when vineyards first appeared in the state. This characterfilled example comes from the important Lodi region. It's fermented in stanliess steel tanks and sees a little oak ageing to round it out. It's got aromas of vanilla, cracked pepper and dark damsons while, on the palate, it's beautifully balanced, full and fleshy and packed with robust dark red fruits and a lick of creamy oak.
When to drink: Great enjoyment that won't break the bank, try it with a home made burger or a spicy sausage casserole.
