Made with a really high 95% proportion of rye in the mashbill this is aimed to be one of the ultimate expressions of Rye Whiskey. It's a regular award winner, is small-batch produced and has a stunning nose and great delivery of flavours loaded with fruit, spice, vanilla, honey and oakiness. Smooth and complex with a long clean finish it's brilliant for sipping neat over ice.
The Brand:
In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830-1860, Tom left a successful law practice and took a punt to follow his passion. Things seem to have worked out pretty well and Bulleits spirits have certainly made their mark.
