Bründlmayer Kamptal 'Terrassen' Grüner Veltliner 2025

Bründlmayer are one of Langenlois’s top estates, and serious Grüner Veltliner is at the heart of what they do. ‘Terrassen’ comes from a mix of vines on Kamptal’s elevated granite terraces, which bring acidity, minerality and lifted aromatics, and from more fertile loess sites that add body and ripeness. There’s a faint spritz at first, with elderflower, citrus and peach notes leading onto a dry, crisp palate with a stony backbone and a long finish – a characteristically well-balanced, elegant wine.

Try with smoked trout, ham and cold vegetable, goats cheese and also Asian cuisine that isn't too spicy.

Weingut Bründlmayer is one of the star producers of Austria's Kamptal region. Willi Bründlmayer, who has been at the helm for over 40 years, owns 90 hectares of vineyards here on the rocky terraces above Langenlois and these are farmed according to organic principles (and were certified as such in 2019). Among the sites are some of Kamptal's best including Zöbinger Heiligenstein which produces some sublime Rieslings. Willi, a member of the Académie Internationale du Vin, heads up the winemaking operations along with his son Vincent, Thomas Klinger and Andreas Wickhoff, one of Austria's few MWs. Meticulous attention to detail is one of their hallmarks which shows in their pure, restrained and mineral wines. Synonymous with the best of Austrian winemaking their wines are consistently reliable from entry level up to their top cuvées.
