Double dry hopping - DDH - is they key here and it means adding hops twice during the brew. That doubling up makes all the difference to the aroma and flavour of an alcohol-free beer. Citra and Mosaic hops add the tropical — ripe mango, peach, a squeeze of citrus — while Simcoe goes in with pine and a faint earthiness to give a bit of edge. Hazy and soft, but with plenty of hoppy character.

Brulo was founded in Edinburgh in 2019 by James Brown, who spent years at the sharp end of the UK craft beer world before turning his attention to alcohol-free. Working with specialist brewing partners across Europe, they produce a focused range of hop-forward beers that lack for nothing apart from the alcohol.
