Description
In a nutshell:
A ripe, fruity and refreshing white from the northern Spanish province of Aragon.
The lowdown:
Made from vines grown on the alluvial soils in the foothills of the Moncayo mountains. It's a wine with a fruity, floral nose, citrus and stone fruit aromas and delicate peach fruit on the palate. With a lightly nutty, savoury character and fresh citrus acidity on the finish it's easy to think of this as an inexpensive version of white Rioja. It is, afterall, made with the same grape which goes under the name of Viura in that region.
The Producer:
Bodegas Borsao, a cornerstone of Campo de Borja in northeast Spain, is a co-operative embodying the region's viticultural spirit. With a legacy steeped in Garnacha, Borsao champions the grape's expressive potential. Their vineyards, nestled in the Moncayo foothills, yield fruit that's concentrated yet balanced, thanks to the region's continental climate. Borsao's commitment to sustainable practices underscores their respect for the land. This dedication to both tradition and innovation has earned them a reputation for crafting wines that are both approachable and age-worthy.
When to drink:
Makes pretty good drinking at anytime and with food pairs well with chicken, fish, or light pasta dishes.
