Biscardo Rosapasso 2025

Rosatos from the Veneto are more commonly based on Pinot Grigio, but this is 100% Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir elsewhere in the world) — a rarity in the area, and it makes for a lovely rosé. Carefully pressed to retain the elegant primary aromas, it's all wild strawberry and cherry, leading onto a smooth palate. Alongside the delicate fruit there are some savoury hints too, the Pinot Nero showing through. Pale and delicate to look at, but it doesn't lack for a bit of bite.

A super and refreshing alternative to Provençal rosés that's naturally great by itself or as an accompaniment to fish and lightly flavoured risottos.

The Biscardo Family have been making wine from their base in Soave for over 150 years and operations are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo. They're renowned for their Proseccos and Corvina based reds in particular. During the course of Maurizio's career, he has consulted for well-known wineries around Italy and in doing so he came across the vineyards that provide the grapes for their Puglian wines. All of their Pugliese and Veneto wines are exceptionally well made approachable and, with the modest pricing, provide a consistently good level of bang for their buck.
