Description
In a nutshell:
From the rolling hills of Beaujolais, this is easy-going and quietly delicious, with juicy red fruit and a soft, supple finish.
The lowdown:
A good Beaujolais-Villages is all about the fruit, and this one nails it. Made from bright, juicy Gamay grapes and using the regions traditional winemaking techniques, its a light-bodied, easy-drinking wine with bags of charm. Crushed strawberries and ripe cherries take centre stage, with a subtle savoury note adding a little bit of intrigue. Refreshing acidity keeps it lively, and theres a gentle floral hint on the finish. Its straightforward, fruity, and simply a joy to drink.
The Producer:
Boutinot, the guys responsible for this wine, is a big name in the UK's wine scene and are behind many labels seen on shelves up and down the country. Paul Boutinot kicked things off in 1980, starting with importing wines and soon partnering with winemakers around the globe. They've since gone on to produce their own wines from places like the Rhône Valley, Italy, South Africa and many other places. Their secret is in backing passionate winemakers who aren't afraid to push the envelope, always aiming for wines that really capture the essence of their regions. This, along with providing excellent value for money, is something they've really nailed.
When to drink:
Its lightness and fresh, fruity character make it lovely on its own, but try it with charcuterie, pâté, or a hearty Niçoise salad - perfect for matching its bright, juicy flavours.
Suitable for Vegans
