Auchroisk 10 Year Old Speyside Single Malt

Described as an apéritif whisky this pleasant and light single malt opens sweet, fresh and balanced before drier citrus and very slightly smoky notes come throuh. Somewhat doughy and buttery on the palate it displays hints of lemon and pineapple with a slight hint of aniseed at the finish.

A relative newcomer, Auchroisk was established in the 1970's in Banffshire, Speyside. Set up on a site specifically chosen to draw water ideal water for the region's style of whisky, Auchroisk was originally branded as Singleton because some considered the name too difficult for non-locals to pronounce. However, several changes later and the distillery has returned to its original title. It's a part of Diageo's extensive stable of distilleries.
