This Puglian red, a blend of Merlot, Primitivo, and Negroamaro, is made using the appassimento method, where the grapes are partially dried, resulting in a concentrated and flavour-packed wine. The bouquet is intoxicating, brimming with warm spices, chocolate, and vanilla. On the palate, it's full-bodied with ripe black fruit flavours, while the tannins are soft and approachable, contributing to a well-balanced wine. This is undeniably a big wine, yet it avoids being a bruiser, and makes for delicious full-flavoured drinking.
