It's mostly Sangiovese with a Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc making up the remainder of the blend, but what has always marked it out is being aged in small oak barrels, as they do in Bordeaux, which gives it its signature rich and captivating complexity. Despite its richness, its displays a surprising sleekness and vibrancy. Fine tannins provide a subtle structure, while a core of bright, sculpted fruit shines through, achieving a sublime balance that is as impressive as it is delicious.

This has all the backbone to match with rich game, and a good slab of aged cheddar to finish the meal. If you want to keep it in the cellar, it will evolve beautifully until the end of the next decade.
