Description
In a nutshell:
A vibrant Italian Pinot Grigio which has the ideal balance of freshness and satisfying texture.
The lowdown:
Fronting up with apple aromas and hints of honey and peach this does exactly what any self-respecting Italian Pinot Grigio should. It's also got a nice little bit of extra texture than you often find and you'll also get hints of orchard fruits, spice and fresh citrus acidity to round it all off in an attractive complete manner. The fruit for this is from mature vineyards in the Veneto, northern Italy where the ripeness achieved allows the winemakers to find a little more richness than is often found in Pinot Grigios around this price level.
The Producer:
This is made by Adria Vini who specialise in offering a tantalising window into approachable Italian wines. A partnership between Boutinot and the Araldica Castelvero co-operative up in Piemonte, their focus is on delivering authentic flavours and good value from a range of Italian regions. You'll find everything from crisp Pinot Grigio and vibrant Sicilian reds to classic fizz from Piemonte. They're not a flashy bunch, but Adria Vini consistently hits the mark in delivering a genuine taste of Italy without breaking the bank.
When to drink:
A really good quaffer, just as good Pinot Grigio should be, and its bit of extra weight means it'll match up to even things like roast chicken or poached salmon really well.
Suitable for Vegans
