For International Sauvignon Blanc Day we’ve decided to shine a spotlight on what has become the world’s favourite white wine with its distinctively aromatic, dry style. Beloved for its vibrancy, Sauvignon Blanc offers a refreshing and flavourful experience.
Spiritual Home: France
Its original home in France’s Loire Valley is where you’ll find it in its purest form and names like Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé are justly famous across the world. Here, Sauvignon Blanc exudes minerality and zesty freshness, often with delicate notes of elderflower and green fruit.
The New Zealand Revolution
New Zealand, though, is probably responsible for its current world-wide standing. They built the entire country’s wine-producing reputation on the back of their bold, bright and exuberant interpretation of the variety.
