South America Explorer's Case
A journey of discovery through the wines and regions of South America. A 6 bottle Mixed Case containing 6 different South American wines, 2 white and 4 red.
South America has actually been producing wine for much longer than you might think, since the 1500s. The wine made back then wasn't very good, and that's putting it nicely. It was the Franciscan Monks that planted Mission grapes to make wine for religious purposes. This then travelled through Peru into Chile and finally into Argentina. It was in the 1800s where Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere were planted and gave South America the leg-up to make the exceptional wine that we know and love today.
Our Explorer's Case showcases what this wonderfully diverse and exciting wine-producing region has to offer. Let us take you on a tour!
Portugal Explorer's Case
For centuries Portugal has been most famous for the production of Port and historically many of us Brits have only really drunk Portuguese still wines when we've been over there on holiday. Over the last 10-20 years there has been a boom in wines from Portugal available on UK shelves, and the quality has only got better and better. However, wine has been made in Portugal since at least the Roman times and there are numerous varieties and regions to discover. Our Explorer's Case showcases what this wonderfully diverse and exciting wine-producing country has to offer.
Austria Explorer's Case
Our first Explorer’s Case is focused on Austria. While most of us have heard of Austrian wine, few have tried any, and even fewer have had much beyond Gruner Veltliner. A country full of a range of wonderful wine regions and different grape varieties we have put together a 6 bottle case of 4 whites and 2 reds that really shows you what the wines of Austria are all about.
