Greece is one of the world's ancient wine producing countries whose grape varieties have spread all around the world. For this month we've gone for a red from an excellent Peloponesse producer whose focus is on their native grapes.
A blend of two of the country's most planted varieties, Agiorgitiko and Mavroudi, this light and bright red is fermented and matured only in stainless steel. And while that makes it fresh and fruity it's also got a level of richness and roundedness that takes it on a step from being a mere glugger. There's lots going here while being a breath of fresh air at the same time.
