Kiwi Albariño: A New Zealand Twist on a Spanish Classic

Medium

Are you a fan of crisp, aromatic wines that go perfectly with seafood?

You know, those Rias Baixas beauties from Atlantic northwest Spain? Well, if that’s your thing, we've got something from New Zealand that’ll tick all your boxes.

It’s Albariño – that delicious grape you usually only find in Galicia – but about 15 years ago, the guys at Nautilus Estate in New Zealand thought, “Why not give it a go here?” And they were spot on.

It’s bursting with ripe apricot and orange peel, and it’s got that mouth-filling zing we all love. The only downside? It comes from a tiny vineyard, so there’s not a lot of it to go round. We’ve managed to get a few bottles, but they’re not going to last long. So, act fast and see how this Kiwi Albariño stacks up against its Spanish cousin. Trust us, it’s worth it!
