Marsannay Clos du Roy - Limited Parcel

Medium

We are offering you a limited parcel of a mature Côte de Nuits village red Burgundy from Maison Louis Jadot. We only have 30 bottles of this special Burgundy, so get it whilst you can!

The Lowdown:
From the most northerly of the Côte de Nuits appellations, Marsannay, near the city of Dijon this classic wine sits under the Louis Jadot umbrella but is from vineyards owned by Domaine Gagey whose family have managed the Jadot business for several decades now. The wine comes from the best vineyard in Marsannay, the south-east facing Clos du Roy, tipped to soon become Marsannay's first Premier Cru vineyard and the 2011 vintage that produced fresh, focused classical style wines.

Tasting Notes
This is a lighter, fresher, minerally style of red Burgundy with mature and developed notes. Aromas of wild blackberries, dried prunes and blackcurrant with dry herby and forest floor notes. The palate is light with a minerally backbone and subtle developed red and dark fruit notes, touches of dry earthy herbs and spice, and mellow tannins. A old school wine that is worth decanting and will open up and evolve over an evening.

When to drink:
A great opportunity to buy a mature Côte de Nuits village Burgundy that is ready for drinking now. Decant for 1-2 hours beforehand.
