Limited Parcel - Joseph Mellot Destinea PN & SB 2021

The Destinea wines are part of a range under the Joseph Mellot name known as the IGP Loire Valley.

From a producer that has a deep-rooted history in the Loire, spanning 500 years the Mellot estate was founded in 1513 and has stayed under management by the same family for all these years. In 1984 the estate came under the stewardship of Alexandre Mellot.

He was one the regional pioneers who believed in the huge potential of the Loire’s Centre Vineyard wines. He invested in the revamping of the estate by expanding the vineyards, modernising the winery and developing the export potential of the estate.

The Destinea wines are part of a range under the Joseph Mellot name known as the IGP Loire Valley. It is an appellation in the Loire that is made up of 14 departments: Loire Atlantique, Vendee, Maine-et-Loire, Deux-Sevres, Sarthe, Inde-et-Loire, Vienne, Loir-et-Cher, Indre, Loiret, Cher, Nievre, Allier and Puy de Dome. The appellation was created in 1968 and since 2009 it has been officially recognized at European level under the Protected Geographical Indication status. The terroir of this region varies greatly from white chalk to volcanic rocks, the Loire and its tributaries cross a great diversity of geo-pedological situations.

The Pinot Noir is a young, fresh, and juicy red wine, with plenty of delicate black fruit on the nose, such as blackberries and blackcurrants. There is a supple savouriness from the Pinot Noir that finishes this wine to well-rounded and balanced end.

The Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant dry white wine with beautiful floral notes on the nose. The citrus flavours of lemon and grapefruit and well balanced by a good level of acidity. The palate shows good aromatics and mouthfeel.

With both the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir available for a limited special price of £9.50, it is one not to miss. Or buy both for an incredible price of £18.00. We could only get 60 bottles of each at the amazing one-off price. So, grab one or both while stocks last, because you won’t see this exceptional offer again.
