Muscadet With Muscle
Old vines. Extra ageing. Still as crisp as ever – just with a bit more going on.
Muscadet may not be the trendiest seafood wine these days—somewhat nudged aside by the likes of Albariño and Vinho Verde—but every so often a bottle comes along that reminds you why it earned its reputation in the first place. Pour l’Histoire is exactly that: a confident, characterful white that proves Muscadet still has something to say.
Made from old vines in the Sèvre-et-Maine heartland and aged longer than usual on its lees, this has all the hallmarks—zesty citrus, saline freshness, clean minerality—but with added depth and texture. It’s a wine that starts where most Muscadets stop.
Great with oysters, naturally, but even better alongside grilled fish, lobster dripping in butter, or roast chicken with herbs. It’s not a background wine—and nor should it be.
