Port Tasting: A Summertime Treat

Medium

Are you looking for a refreshing and delicious way to cool down this summer? Look no further than Port! Port is a versatile drink that can be enjoyed on its own or in cocktails. And the best part is, it's a lower-alcohol option than many other alcoholic drinks.

On Friday 21st July, the School of Port is coming to our Forecourt to host a port tasting. They'll be showcasing three delicious cocktails: White Port and Tonic, Ruby Port and Blood Orange and Tawny Port and Ginger.

White Port and Tonic is a refreshing and light cocktail that's perfect for a hot day. The white port adds a touch of sweetness to the tonic, while the tonic's bitterness helps to balance out the sweetness.

Ruby Port and Blood Orange is a more complex cocktail with a deeper flavour profile. The ruby port is full-bodied and fruity, while the blood orange adds a tartness that helps to cut through the sweetness.

Tawny Port and Ginger is a rich and flavourful cocktail that's perfect for an evening drink. The tawny port is aged in oak barrels, which gives it a complex flavour profile. The ginger adds a touch of spice and the mint adds a touch of freshness.

In addition to the cocktails, the School of Port will also be providing tastings of different types of port on their own. You'll have the opportunity to try white port, ruby port and tawny port. You'll also learn about the different flavours and characteristics of each type of port.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about port and to try some delicious cocktails. So come down to our Forecourt on Friday 21st July and enjoy a summery treat!
