A review of Menu #1
This was a cracker of an opening menu for the Flights of Fancy, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Many of you came and sampled the bottles we had open and gave us some great feedback on your favourites and valuable scores for our leaderboard. Without hesitating, we will jump straight into the top 3 according to your results.
Coming in the first spot for Menu 1 was the popular Roaring Meg Pinot Gris, on average it scored an impressive 8.48 out of 10 making it the clear-cut winner. Some of the common comments about the wine were that it had floral notes, it was complex, with peachy flavours and it was the favourite of the menu. In second place was the Gran Passione Veneto Rosso, scoring an average score of 7.98 out of 10. Some common comments about the wine were that it had a lovely blackcurrant nose with rich depth to it and that it is a wine that would pair well with Sunday lunch. Finally in third place was the Mitolo Jester Shiraz, which scored an average score of 7.67 out of 10. Some common comments about the wine were that it is a sophisticated shiraz with bright juicy flavours.
