In a nutshell:
Light and hoppy Belgian Trappist Blond ale from the Westmalle Monastery Brewery near Antwerp.
Westamalle Extra is one of the brewery's oldest beers dating back to its foundation in 1836 and is what was normally served up to the monks for their own consumption. For a Trappist beer its a fairly easy going 4.8% ABV but, nonetheless, a very refreshing and thirst-quenching golden ale with fruity notes and rich aromas.
