DESCRIPTION
A classic Sauvignon Blanc from France's Loire Valley that's full of character and depth.
The lowdown:
Thierry Delaunay, who has run the estate started by his father since 2003, practices sustainable viticulture, combined with up to the minute techniques to produce excellent Loire Valley wines. This is crisp and fresh with notes of citrus, green apple as well as some riper stone fruit and grapefruit flavours coming through. There is a pleasant amount of weight to the body giving a nice rounded mouthfeel with some minerally touches.
When to drink:
Altogether this is well-made, very drinkable and at its best when young and fresh.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Domaine Joel Delaunay

Domaine Joël Delaunay is a family-owned estate in the heart of the Loire Valley near the famous Château de Chenonceau, east of Tours in the small village of Pouillé. Today, fifth-generation owner Thierry Delaunay runs the domaine. He is a fine example of the best of the new generation of French wine makers. Brought up by his father Joël to appreciate the traditional nuances of terroir and climate, Thierry has taken this on board while enthusiastically embracing modern winemaking techniques and styles. He was the first Touraine producer to bottle under screwcap in 2004.
Domaine Joël Delaunay has 37 hectares of vineyards in the Touraine and Touraine Chenonceaux appellations all of which are farmed using sustainable viticulture. 90% of their production is white, with Sauvignon Blanc being the predominant grape variety, and 10% is red, mostly Gamay and Cabernet Franc.
