The Girardins have been making wine in this part of Burgundy for many generations and today Vincent is producing some incredibly well crafted wines with a real focus on the life and health of the vineyards, which really comes through in the quality of wines produced. Saint-Romain is a small appellation near Beaune where the distinction of the wines were first noted in 1947. The grapes for this wine are twice sorted before fermentation and then aged in oak casks. The concentrated flavours contain fresh citrus, ripe peach, light toasty notes, touches of honey and an elegant buttery richness. Good, clean acidity and a long finish.
