In a nutshell:
A rich and elegant northern Rhône red made by a domaine who have impeccable credentials.
This wine, made from 100% Syrah, comes from sustainably grown fruit in the domaine's 4 hectares of vines in the appellation of Saint-Joseph, one of the up and coming areas of the northern Rhône. Aged in a French oak barrels for 15 months it's a rich, dark wine with aromas of black fruit, freshly cracked black pepper and roasted cocoa. There's an elegant mineral edge to the palate and it's beautifully structured and full bodied with fine tannins that give a real silkiness in the mouth. To round off, it finishes with a long, spicy and harmonius sign off.
When to drink:
Succulent and refined, well hung game or red meats are the sort of food parings to think of here.
