A ripe and fruity red Burgundy from the Côte Chalonnaise village of Rully made by one of the top producers in the area.
The lowdown:
The domaine was founded by Henri Jacqueson in 1947 and is now run by his son, Paul, and granddaughter, Marie, and has long been recognised as one of the top estates in the Côte Chalonnaise. They are one of very few in Rully to hand pick everything from their well situated 13ha of vines. This 2018 is plump, full and fruity with very accessible, crunchy dark cherry and red fruit flavours complimented with notes of herbs and spice. Balanced with fresh acidity and soft taninns this is an approachable and rewarding young Burgundy.
When to drink:
Will work well with roast chicken or pork, veal dishes, or risotto.
