The lowdown:
Based in the west of Sicily Rallo are one of the island's most respected producers who work with local varieties and are fully organic certified. Zibibbo is the local name for Muscat, one of the oldest grape varieties around and grown across the Mediterranean, which can produce a wide range of styles though when called Zibibbo it tends to mean dry, fresh, light and aromatic wines, such as this. Grown up in the hills in the Patti Piccolo area of the Alcamo region, hand-picked and fermented and matured in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatics this is a lovely, delicate, crisp wine. Floral and orange blossom aromas with notes of pear and peach stone fruits lead onto a clean and rounded palate with great freshness and a persistent finish.
When to drink:
Perfect as an aperitif, with salads, seafood, in particular raw and smoked fish, also would work with blue cheeses.
