A very well crafted Canadian Pinot Noir from British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.
Quails' Gate consider this their flagship red wine given that the volcanic slopes on which the vineyards are sited suit this variety perfectly. After fermentation the wine was gently pressed and aged for 10 months in French oak before racking, blending and bottling. The 2016 has an expressive combination of juicy berry fruit flavours surrounded by hints of cloves and dried herbs. It's medium bodied and well balanced with smooth tannins and long, lingering finish.
Great with vension or pork this is quite a sophisticated Pinot Noir reminiscent of its Burgundy cousins.
