A big and generous red from Gascony in South West France.
A blend of Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Fer Servadou - a traditional southern Gascon variety which is big on the tannin and very dark in colour. It's one of the multiplicity of wines from the peerless cooperative, Productuers Plaimont, and, for all its power, is an extremely well balanced wine. The flavours and aromas of black fruits are set off well by the gentle spiciness.
Ideal with the hearty cuisine of this part of the world such as rich game or pork.
