A fruity and creamy, unpeated Indian single malt matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
The lowdown:
Produced at their distillery in Goa 'Brilliance' is made using barley from the Himalyan foothills and matured in ex-bourbon casks for between 3 to 5 years. In the tropics while evaporation is greater these sorts of spirits also mature at an earlier age. It's full of cinnamon, honey and spice aromas which lead lead onto a palate of sweet spice, vanilla and hints of cocoa. At the finish there are hints of orange which linger pleasantly leaving a satisfying aftertaste. This is one that regularly scores well in the respected Jim Murray Whisky Bible.

John Distilleries Ltd
Founded by Paul P John in 1996, and based in the southern Indian city of Bangalore, John Distilleries is one of India's leaing alcoholic beverages companies. While they produce and have agencies across a number of different wines and spirits brands their top seller is 'Original Choice' Whisky which sell millions of cases annually. In 2008 they introduced a range of single malts under the 'Paul John' label which are produced at the traditional pot-still distillery they established in Goa. The first release was in 2012 and the success they met with has led to a further expansion of the range and they are now exported across the world.
